The development of my technique using paper stencils and layers of color began when I wanted a clean line between two colors without using wax resist.
Each stencil is cut at the time of decoration using newsprint paper.
I hand-build and throw on the potter’s wheel. The pottery is fired to cone 02, 2048F.

I greatly enjoy putting colors together and continually experiment and try new combinations as they come to mind.
My red earthenware clay is made as small batches in my garage. It has Red Art, Lizella, Hawthorne Bond 50 mesh, XX Sagger Ball Clay and Frit 3124. The clear, food-safe glaze is also mixed up in the garage and the ingredients are Laguna Borate, Gillespie Borate, EP Kaolin and Silica 325 mesh.
My imagery includes cute animals and botanical references. Lately, the spiritual path I’ve chosen comes out more clearly and I am leaning into it as it really represents my truest self. The gift of love is frequently represented.
